Honoring Victor Cicansky
A special thank you to Victor Cicansky for his wonderful artwork featuring two intertwined carrots! Gifted to New Dance Horizons (NDH) for this year's Secret Gardens Tour (SGT) promo by the Cicansky family with credit to Photographer Gary Robins we also extend gratitude to Slate Gallery who presented Victor’s Exhibition entitled ‘Sexing the Garden’ in the spring of 2019. Cicansky’s solo exhibition ‘Sexing the Garden’ offered a playful celebration of the fecundity of the prairie garden!
Renowned Saskatchewan visual artist and gardener extraordinaire, Victor Cicansky’s entwined carrots are featured on NDH Secret Gardens Tour poster this year! NDH’s extends a big THANK YOU to Victor for his delightful art work, along with Gary Robins who photographed the carrots, and to Gina Fafard, gallerist and owner of Slate Gallery, and to the Cicansky family for contributing Cicansky's photograph to NDH from his collection entitled "Sexing the Garden" to this years SGT.
We applaud Victor's creativity and commitment to cultivating an appreciation of art & gardening in the prairie region. His prolific life’s work has made a positive impact on communities and individuals alike. Victor’s work embraces the energy and beauty of gardening in the prairies. Cicansky's entwined carrots like tango dancers have added a joyful touch of fun, cheekiness, provocation, and playfulness to our 24th Annual Secret Gardens Tour.
